Q. How much notice do I need to give to make a booking?
A. As in any situation where you need to make a booking or reservation, the more notice you give the better chance you have of securing the day and time that you want. Remember that Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular days for moving houses, so if you want to move on one of these days make your booking as far in advance as possible.
Q. Does your hourly rate include insurance?
A. There are no hidden or surprise costs when you use Quick Pick Movers. The hourly rate covers use of the truck, the moving staff and insurance.
Q. Can your removalists disassemble and reassemble my furniture?
A. Our movers can disassemble and reassemble furniture as required for safety and transport reasons. We regularly do this with pool tables and pianos. Our moving team members carry standard tools such as Allen keys and screwdrivers to aid in this. If a special tool is needed to disassemble/reassemble an item, we ask that you supply this tool. We request that you let us know at the time of booking if there are any items that we will need to disassemble (e.g. bedhead and base, office desk-and-return, etc.). If you wish us to reassemble an item of furniture, it is best to let us disassemble it, too – then we will know how to put it back together!
Q. Do you have minimum charges and what increments do you charge in?
A. We have 2 hours minimum charges for the trucks and 1 hour minimum for the van and we charge in 15 minutes increments after the minimum charges.
Q. Is there anything that your insurance does not cover?
A. Boxes of contents that you pack yourself are not covered for internal breakage or damage that may occur during the move.
Q. I don’t want a lot of heavy foot traffic through my house and possible dirty shoes leaving marks. Will the movers take their shoes off?
A. No, our movers must keep their shoes on at all times for health and safety reasons, such as slipping or dropping something on their foot. It is also difficult to carry furniture and try to put your shoes on again as you go outside! If you are concerned, lay down sheets or plastic, but make sure they are firmly secured against tripping and slipping.
Q. Will your moving trolleys leave marks on my floors?
A. All our moving trolleys have rubber wheels and will not leave any permanent marks on your floors.
Q. If need be can the removalists help me with storage?
A. Yes, as of 1/8/2014 QPM will have opened up our very own, brand new storage facilities. However we do currently offer short stays storage for customers needing to store items for up to a few days.
Q. Do we have to pay a deposit to book?
A.Yes, we require the out call fee deposit to secure all bookings.
Q. What is the call out fee?
A.The call out fee covers for petrol and travel time we need to come and return back from your properties.
Q. Is this deposit refunded if I cancel?
A. No, this deposit secures your booking and therefore means we can’t book other customers wanting that spot. However we do understand circumstances change and if you need to reschedule we will transfer your deposit to another moving date once for every customer, provided we are given 24 hours’ notice. For customers, on the day of your move your deposit would be deducted from your total bill.
Q. Are there any hidden fee’s or costs?
A. No, When we provide you with a quote we will always ask all questions and mention all costs involved so there are no hidden unwanted surprises.
